Mike Myers

1989-1994

Mike Myers was born in Scarborough, Canada on May 25, 1963. At age 8 he starred in his first TV commercial alongside Gilda Radner, playing her son. He went on to work in various TV and movie spots until he became a VJ on a Canadian music channel, and briefly had his own comedy sketch show, Mullarky & Myers, until he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live.
During his years on SNL, Mike developed such legendary characters as Wayne Campbell of Wayne's World, Dieter of Sprockets, Simon, Phillip the Hyper-Hypo, and Linda Richman of Coffee Talk, based on his mother-in-law.
While on SNL, Mike made three movies: Wayne's World, So I Married an Axe Murderer, and Wayne's World 2. Mike left SNL in 1994, and in 1997 he wrote and starred in the box-office hit Austin Powers.
In 1998 he starred in his first dramatic role in 54, in which his performance was critically acclaimed. Then came the sequel Austin Powers, The Spy Who Shagged Me. If you haven't seen this, go now. It's hilarious, as all of Mike's stuff is.
