Jon Lovitz was born July 21, 1957 in Tarzana, California. He
joined the cast of SNL in 1985 and used his incredible voice talents to create a
variety of characters, from Master Thespian to Annoying Man to Tommy Flanagan
the Pathological Liar. Jon made his film debut in the comedy Three
Amigos! with Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Phil
Hartman.
After that, he got roles in My Stepmother is an Alien, Big, City
Slickers 2, North, Trapped in Paradise, and High School High. Jon has
also lended his voice for animated works such as The Brave Little Toaster, An
American Tail: Fievel Goes West, provided voice cameos for The
Simpsons, and created his own animated TV show called The Critic. Jon
was set to start filming a dark comedy in August with his good friend the late
Phil Hartman, but unfortunately those plans were cut short
now Jon will take
Phil's place on the TV show NewsRadio, as a different character of
course.
